कोषAbout Kosha

The infrastructure layer
Indian accounting has been waiting for.

Kosha was built on a simple conviction: the tools Indian companies use to manage their finances are decades behind what is now possible. We are changing that.

KOSHA  ·  SANSKRIT

Treasury. The financial foundation.

In Sanskrit, कोष means a treasury — a storehouse, a vault. In the Arthashastra, the Kosha is the state treasury: the financial foundation from which governance is built. Not a metaphor about accumulation. A metaphor about integrity.

The financial foundation has to be correct before anything else can be built on top of it. That is what Kosha is for.

Why this was built.

The problem with Indian accounting is not the people managing it. CAs are rigorous. Finance teams are capable. The problem is that the tools have not changed.

Indian companies are running their finances on software designed for a different era — offline desktops, monthly close cycles, manual reconciliations. Meanwhile, AI is transforming every professional service around accounting. Auditors use it. Firms use it. The billing goes to the client.

That is backwards. The company should have the intelligence, not just the bill for it.

Kosha was built by someone who has spent years inside Indian accounting workflows — as an auditor, and as someone who watched a small business owner spend significant time and money navigating GST filings, closing books, and managing a CA relationship for work that should be handled by the system.

The insight from both sides is the same: this problem is solvable. The technology exists. India has not seen a disruption in this market in three decades. That is not because the problem is too hard. It is because no one has built the right system for it yet.

What a real accounting platform looks like.

CONTINUOUS

Accounting that closes itself.

Books should be closed continuously — not reconciled at month-end in a sprint. Every transaction balanced, every journal verified, every period lockable the moment it ends.

NATIVE

Compliance that is built in.

GST, TDS, Schedule III, and MSME rules are not add-ons in Kosha. They are the foundation. India-native compliance is what a serious Indian accounting platform must have.

TRUSTED

A system your CA works inside.

The CA does not get replaced. They get a better environment to do their work — one where the mechanical preparation is already done and professional judgment is what remains.
